في مجاهل غابة خضراء يعيش طائر طوقان، الذي تشي كل خطوة يخطوها بطبيعته المترددة. ذات يوم تصله رسالة من صديق مجهول ليطلب منه أصعب طلب: عليه أن يختار حيواناً واحداً فقط ليقدم له هدية يعبر له فيها عن إعجابه الشديد بما يمثله هذا الحيوان من صفات جميلة.
